“Unplugged” is a word that literally means “disconnected”, or “without plug” (electric), and is frequently associated to the music, when means approximately "without electric instruments."
In photography I like to associate this word to the use of analog cameras with film, 35 or 120 mm.
Therefore, "unplugged" for me means analog photography without any technological help of digital photography.
Analog Photography returns a sense of reflection, slowness and mental construction of the image before shooting. The setting of all parameters is strictly manual, exposure is often estimated, based on experience, and the final result is sometimes surprising and sometimes disappointing, but that's part of the game rules!
It may seem absurd today use film cameras in the digital age, but I can not give up the emotions you feel while using these old cameras and developing films in your dark room... You don’t believe me? Try it!
P.S. for see another “unplugged” images, get into the next “unplugged” folder at home… (work in progress)
